Course Overview

This program builds practical Android app development skills through a structured, mentor-led curriculum. The first two months cover intensive training in Kotlin, Android Studio, UI components, Material Design, local databases (SQLite/Room), Firebase integration, and REST API consumption, through live sessions and hands-on app-building exercises. In the third month, learners apply these skills to an individual project and a collaborative team project, building complete Android applications and a portfolio ready for the Play Store.

What You'll Learn

Build Android UIs with layouts, views and ConstraintLayout in Android Studio
Program in Kotlin for Android, including activities, fragments and navigation
Design with Material Design principles, themes and dark mode
Store data locally using Shared Preferences, SQLite and Room database
Integrate Firebase for authentication, Realtime Database, Firestore and hosting
Consume REST APIs with Retrofit and parse JSON responses
Implement push notifications, background services and Google Maps location tracking
Build and ship 2 real-world Android projects, including a weather and notes app
